Point Guards

Isiah Thomas should be able to motivate Stephon Marbury on to greatness.  Marbury is a good shooter and a great passer that makes the whole team better when he feels like it.  Marbury has averaged 20.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game over his career.

Nate Robinson is a little ball of energy for the Knicks when he gets into the game.  Robinson is a good three-point shooter (39.7%) that needs to work on his passing.  Robinson only averages 2.0 assists per game in 21.4 minutes per game.  Robinson is a score first point guard that has averaged 9.3 points per game as a rookie.

Mardy Collins was a late first-round pick of the Knicks.  Collins has a bright future with the Knicks, but it probably won’t start this season because of the Knicks depth at guard.

Isiah Thomas

Isiah Thomas is under the gun in NY after building an expensive roster that didn’t produce, so he fired the Coach and faces an ultimatum….make the playoffs or look for another job. Thomas has been able to coach a team similar in talent level to the Knicks in Indiana. Thomas has a career record of 131-115 in three seasons with the Pacers.

Thomas complied a 5-10 record in three playoff appearances with the Pacers.
