The Knicks played hard last night but it just wasn’t enough.  Quentin Richardson had a great game with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.  Stephon Marbury also had a decent game running the offense with 23 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists.  Channing Frye had a solid game near the basket with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Knicks lose a heartbreaker 99-98 to the Wizards in Washington

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 11:36 am

The Knicks played hard last night and they decided that they wouldn’t let Gilbert Arenas beat them.  The problem with that is that Caron Butler and Antwan Jamison both had big games.  Quentin Richardson was unstoppable for the Knicks last night with 35 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.  He hit 7 of the 10 three-point shots he attempted.  Eddy Curry also had a solid game with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

The Knicks played a solid game yesterday as a team and that’s why they won.  Stephon Marbury led the way for the Knicks with 25 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals and he hit 4 3-pointers.  Eddy Curry had another great game in the paint with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Jared Jeffries needs to earn his money

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Monday 15 January 2007 at 10:50 am

The Knicks signed Jeffries in the off-season to provide defense to the interior of the Knicks.  His season however has been a waste to this point as he missed alot of the season with a broken wrist and then he was suspended by the NBA for the fight the Knicks had with the Nuggets.  He has only played in 12 games so far this season and is averaging 28.5 minutes, 6.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  He also has been absolutely horrible from the free throw line as he’s only hit 12 of 32 (37.5%) of his attempts.  The Knicks just want Jeffries to give them effort and hustle on defense, but it just hasn’t been there so far this season.

Knicks fall 126-110 to the Bobcats in New York

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 13 January 2007 at 1:01 pm

The Knicks outrebounded the Bobcats 44-29, but a big reason for that is because the Knicks allowed the Cats to hit 59.3% from the floor so the Cats didn’t need to rebound.  The Knicks played especially poor on defense in the second half as the Knicks were outscored 74-59.  Stephon Marbury led the way for the Knicks with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  Eddy Curry had another solid game in the paint with 17 points and 7 rebounds.

The Knicks win last night 106-99 over the 76ers

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 12:59 pm

The Knicks shot 53.1% from the floor and that propelled them to victory last night.  Stephon Marbury had a great game leading the way for the offense with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.  Eddy Curry had another monster game inside with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Quentin Richardson scored 19 points off the bench in his first game back from injury.

The Knicks improved to 16-21 on the season with this win.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270110018

Jamal Crawford is steppin’ up big-time

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Sunday 7 January 2007 at 9:22 pm

With Stevie Francis possibly out for the season the Knicks needed someone to step up at shooting guard and Jamal Crawford has done just that.  Crawford has averaged 43.3 minutes per game over the last six and has averaged 21.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  If Crawford keeps his game at this level, Francis will be a back-up if/when he comes back.

The Knicks pound the Supersonics 111-93 in Seattle

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 6 January 2007 at 10:12 am

The Knicks raced out to a 68-51 lead at the half and never looked back.  Stephon Marbury led the way for the Knicks with 28 points and 4 assists.  Eddy Curry had another solid game inside with 27 points and 6 rebounds.  Jamal Crawford was very active last night with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Knicks improved to 15-21 on the season with this big win.  For a look at the boxscore, click on this link  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270105025

Knicks only 1 game out in the Atlantic Division

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 5 January 2007 at 6:11 pm

The Knicks are only 14-21 on the season but they’re only 1 game out of first place.  The Knicks have a fine collection of basketball players, they just don’t play well as a team.  If Isiah Thomas can get them to play together, their is no reason to think that they can’t win this division.  Thomas has already gotten Eddy Curry to toughen up and I never thought that would happen.  The Knicks are averaging 99.1 points per game which is a little disappointing when you look at the offensive talent on their roster.  The Knicks aren’t playing to good on defense as teams are averaging 102.2 points per game against them this season.

The Knicks blast the Trailblazers 99-81 in Portland

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 5 January 2007 at 1:02 am

The Knicks outrebounded the Trailblazers 51-31 and that was a key factor in their victory.  Eddy Curry had an awesome game with 27 points and 10 rebounds.  Jamal Crawford also had a great game with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.  Stephon Marbury had a good game leading the offense with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.  David Lee played a monster game off the bench with 9 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Knicks improved to 14-21 on the season with this win.
