The Knicks have acquired 24-year old PF/C Darko Milicic from the Grizzlies in return for 29-year old SG/SF Quentin Richardson. Milicic is a big guy at 7′0″, 275 pounds and he can run the court which means he could fit in really well in the Knicks’ offensive system. He played in 61 games (15 starts) for the Grizzlies last season and he averaged 17.0 minutes, 5.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. Milicic has now played in 337 games (98 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 17.2 minutes, 5.5 points, 4,0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.2 blocked shots per game. Look for Milicic to have the best year of his career for the Knicks in the 2009-2010 season. Quentin Richardson played in 72 games (51 starts) for the Knicks last season and he averaged 26.3 minutes, 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. This could wind up being a trade that’s good for both teams and those are rare in today’s NBA.
