Quentin Richardson exercises option to stay with the New York Knicks
SG/SF Quentin Richardson has exercised his player option for the 2009-2010 NBA season. The Knicks would have probably just let Richardson walk away if he opted out but in this cast the player was a smart cookie in this economy. Richardson played in 72 games (51 starts) with the Knicks last season and he averaged 26.3 minutes, 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. In four seasons with the Knicks, Richardson has played in 241 games (206 starts) in which he has averaged 28.2 minutes, 9.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Richardson still has some game left so he will likely still help the Knicks this coming up season.
