The New York Knicks claim Jason Williams off waivers
The Knicks have claimed veteran point guard Jason Williams off waivers from the Clippers. The Knicks have five business days to hammer out a deal with Williams or he will become a unrestricted free agent. Williams did not play last season as he is just now coming out of retirement. He has played in 679 games (649 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 31.2 minutes, 11.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. “White Chocolate” could really excel in the Knicks’ up tempo offense so it will be interesting to see if he signs on to play with them.
UPDATE: Jason Williams couldn’t work out a deal with the Knicks thus becoming a unrestricted free agent.
