Chris Duhon is stinking it up so far this season for the New York Knicks

The point guard is supposed to be the QB of the offense and a big part of the Knicks’ problems this year stems from the play of starting point guard Chris Duhon. Duhon has played in 7 games (all starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 36.7 minutes, 7.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He also is shooting a pathetic 25.4% from the floor and it’s really hurting the team. Whispers have already started around N.Y. that the Knicks might consider trading for Allen Iverson next month when he is elgible to be moved.

Utah Jazz 95, New York Knicks 93

The Knicks were outrebounded 53-40 last night and it really hurt them in this game. After sleepwalking for three quarters the Knicks outscored the Jazz 29-17 in the 4th quarter and almost stole this game. Rookie guard Toney Douglas was outstanding off the bench last night for the Knicks as he scored 21 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and he stole the ball twice in only 23 minutes. Wilson Chandler was also effective for the Knicks last night with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Larry Hughes only shot 3 of 12 from the floor in this game but he still filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots. The Knicks are now 1-7 on the season.

Milwaukee Bucks 102, New York Knicks 87

The Knicks sunk to a new low last night as they fell behind 66-35 at halftime to a bad Bucks basketball team. The Knicks also showed a shocking lack of effort as the Bucks outrebounded them 54-34! David Lee led the way for the Knicks last night with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Rookie guard Toney Douglas was electric off the bench for the Knicks last night with 16 points in only 17 minutes on the court. Danilo Gallinari also was semi-effective last night finishing with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. The Knicks are now 1-6 on the season.

Cleveland Cavaliers 100, New York Knicks 91

The Knicks were out-rebounded 46-31 and they didn’t play any defense as the Cavs hit 53.5% of their shots from the floor and those facts were a recipe for disaster for the Knicks. David Lee led the way for the Knicks in this game with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Larry Hughes filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Danilo Gallinari continues to play pretty well for the Knicks as he scored 17 points and grabbed 2 rebounds. The Knicks fall to 1-5 on the season.

The Knicks got pounded 51-33 in the second half of this game and it did them in. Al Harrington stuffed the stat sheet in this game with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. David Lee was also outstanding in this game as he finished up with 20 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. No other player on the Knicks scored more than 11 points in this game. The Knicks are now 1-4 on the season.

Danilo Gallinari is stepping up so far for the New York Knicks this season

Danilo Gallinari has been promoted to the starting lineup for the Knicks due to his outstanding play so far this season. Gallinari has played in 4 games (2 starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 32.3 minutes, 19.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Knicks really hope that Gallinari’s play is not a mirage as they need his help on offense.

The Knicks outscored the Hornets 40-30 in the 4th quarter to seal the first victory of the year. David Lee led the way for the Knicks in this game with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Larry Hughes got the start in this game and he finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Chris Duhon was outstanding running the offense as he scored 18 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 9 assists and he had 2 steals. Al Harrington was solid off the bench again for the Knicks with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. The Knicks are now 1-3 on the season.

The New York Knicks lose Nate Robinson

The Knicks will be without Nate Robinson for the next couple of weeks with a sprained ankle. Robinson has played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Knicks this season and he has averaged 25.7 minutes, 8.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Robinson has had a awful time shooting the ball so far this season hitting 10 of 35 shots (28.6%) but the Knicks will still miss his energy off the bench. Larry Hughes and rookie Toney Douglas will have to step up while Robinson is out of action. Hughes has played in 1 game this season working 39 minutes in which he scored 18 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, stole the ball 4 times and he blocked 1 shot. He will likely get the bulk of the extra minutes while Robinson is out. But, the Knicks will also want to get a look at first round pick Toney Douglas. Douglas has played in 2 games off the bench for the Knicks this season and he has averaged 4.5 minutes, 1.5 points and 0.5 rebounds per game.

Philadelphia 76ers 141, New York Knicks 127 in OT

The Knicks really fought back in this game outscoring the Sixers 41-26 in the 4th quarter to get this game into overtime. But then it all came crashing down for the Knicks as they were outscored 19-5 in O.T. The Knicks were outrebounded 49-31 in this game and the Sixers shot 60.7% from the floor and it’s hard to win a game playing defense like that. Al Harrington led the way for the Knicks in this game with 42 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists off the bench. Danilo Gallinari got his first start of the season and he played great scoring 30 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists in 42 minutes on the court. Larry Hughes had a very solid game off the bench for the Knicks last night as he finished with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The Knicks are now 0-3 on the season.
