The Knicks are now 3-9 on the year.

New York Knicks 110, Indiana Pacers 103

The New York Knicks (2-9) got a rare road win tonight against the Indiana Pacers (5-5).  Al Harrington seemed like he wanted to send a message to his former team and he led the Knicks to the win.  Harrington had 26 points and 5 rebounds, with 13 of those points coming in the fourth quarter where the Knicks outscored the Pacers 34-17.  The Knicks played very well in the second half after doing a very poor job defensively in the first.  They gave up 43 points in the second quarter, but only gave up 34 in the entire second half.  You don’t see a team score more points in a quarter than in a half in the same game very often.  The Knicks were not able to contain Danny Granger very well, as he had 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.  The Knicks got a great game from their bench and not just Harrington.  Larry Hughes nearly had a triple double of the bench with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.  Eddy Curry added 10 points and 4 rebounds in only 11 minutes of play.  The Knicks need more defensive efforts like the one they put up tonight in the second half.

The New York Knicks should start playing the kids

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Report, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 16 November 2009 at 5:34 pm

The Knicks don’t look like a team that’s going to win many games this season so they should get the rookies a lot of minutes this year. 23-year old PG/SG Toney Douglas has been electric off the bench for the Knicks so far this season. He has played in 9 games (1 start) for the Knicks so far and he is averaging 16.1 minutes, 9.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Douglas is also shooting 50% from the floor so far for the Knicks. This kid needs to keep getting his minutes as he can put the ball in the basket. 22-year old power forward Jordan Hill has only played in 5 games (0 starts) so far for the Knicks and he is averaging 7.0 minutes, 5.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. He, like Douglas, appears to have a nice upside. 24-year old SF Marcus Landry has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 5.5 minutes, 2.3 points and 1.0 rebound per game.

The Knicks didn’t play any defense last night as the Warriors shot 58.3% from the floor and it doomed them on the scoreboard. Danilo Gallinari led the way for the Knicks last night with 19 points and 10 rebounds. David Lee pitched in with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Al Harrington scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds last night. The Knicks are now a pathetic 1-9 on the season.

Rookie guard Toney Douglas had another big game for the Knicks with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Wilson Chandler (14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist) and Larry Hughes (14 points, 1 rebound, 8 assists) both pitched in with decent games for the Knicks last night.
