New York Knicks 87, Charlotte Bobcats 94

The New York Knicks’ (8-16) 4-game win streak came to an end Tuesday night, as they fell to the Charlotte Bobcats (10-13) on the road.  The Knicks had an 8-point lead going into the 4th quarter, but were outscored 28-13 in the final quarter to lose the game.  Turnovers really hurt the Knicks in this one, with the Bobcats scoring 29 points off 21 Knick turnovers.  They shot 45% from the field, but they jacked up 25 threes and only hit 7 of them (28%).  The scoring was balanced, with all five starters scoring in double figures.  Chris Duhon led the way with 18 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds.  They only got 15 points from their bench.  Stephen Jackson led the Bobcats with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

Chris Duhon is really stinking it up for the New York Knicks

The Knicks really have to look at benching starting point guard Chris Duhon who has been awful so far this season. Duhon has played in 23 games (all starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 34.0 minutes, 8.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Duhon is also only shooting 32.8% from the floor as teams are just packing the paint and letting him shoot bricks. The Knicks don’t have many good alternatives to starting in the place of Duhon and Larry Hughes and Nate Robinson are shooting guards. Maybe the Knicks should just tell Duhon to pass the ball more until his shot starts coming around because he is hurting the team right now.

New York Knicks 104, Orlando Magic 118

The New York Knicks (4-15) played poor defense once again and fell to the Orland Magic (15-4) last night on the road.  The Knicks had a rough first half and only scored 16 points in the second quarter.  The Knicks have not had too many problems scoring points though, and it has been their defense and rebounding that has been hurting them.  David Lee seems to be the only who hits the boards hard, but he only had 6 rebounds last night.  The Knicks were out-rebounded 46-36 and they let the Magic shoot 55% from the field.  Wilson Chandler was the Knicks’ top player last night with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.  It wasn’t enough though, as Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis both had double-doubles.  The Knicks really have to get better at making stops if they ever want to get out of the basement of the Eastern Conference.
