The Knicks will be without Wilson Chandler (groin) and Eddy Curry (torn calf) for the remainder of the season. Chandler played in 65 games (64 starts) for the Knicks last season and he averaged 35.7 minutes, 15.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. The Knicks will miss him as he is turning into a pretty solid player. Eddy Curry only played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Knicks last season and he averaged 8.9 minutes, 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. The Knicks won’t miss him as he didn’t do much for them this year.

The Knicks look like they have gotten a couple of promising youngsters from the Celtics for Nate Robinson. SF/SG Bill Walker has really excelled with the Knicks so far. He has played in 16 games (6 starts) for the Knicks and he is averaging 25.2 minutes, 10.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Walker is shooting 56% from the floor for the Knicks and he will keep getting shots as long as he keeps shooting like he is right now. SG/SF J.R. Giddens just recently got into some games for the Knicks and he is playing pretty decent. He has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Knicks so far this season and he is averaging 7.5 minutes, 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game on 52.6% shooting from the floor. Giddens will likely start getting more P.T. soon for the Knicks.

The Knicks have lost forward Jonathan Bender for the year due to having surgery on a broken finger. Bender played in 25 games (1 start) for the Knicks this season and he averaged 11.7 minutes, 4.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. The Knicks shouldn’t miss him too much as he wasn’t getting much playing time this season anyway.

David Lee has been having an outstanding season for the New York Knicks, but his right knee has been bothering him lately and he is sitting out tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers because of it.  This is the first game of the season that Lee has missed, and he is being listed as day-to-day since it is just knee tendinitis.  Tendinitis can linger for a while though, so it looks like Lee will have to play through some pain as the season winds down.  It’s a shame, because Lee has been one of the few bright spots for the disappointing Knicks this season.  He was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team, and is averaging 20.1 points, 11.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.04 steals, and 0.5 blocks.  He has shot the ball great as well, hitting 55% from the field and 79% from the line.  Lee’s injury is not a good sign for the Knicks, who are 24-44 on the season and are also without Eddy Curry (calf) and Wilson Chandler (groin), leaving their front court in disarray.

With Sergio Rodriguez in town the Knicks have decided not to play 27-year old point guard Chris Duhon unless it’s an emergency. Duhon has not played in a game for the Knicks since February 20th as he has 10 DNPs in a row. Look for that DNP streak to continue to grow. Duhon has played in 54 games (42 starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 32.8 minutes, 7.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. Those numbers aren’t the frustrating ones to Knicks’ management but his 34.4% shooting from the floor is the reason that his butt is nailed to the bench.
