Toney Douglas looked pretty solid for the New York Knicks this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Friday 16 April 2010 at 10:30 am

24-year old SG/PG Toney Douglas looked solid as a rookie for the Knicks this season. He played in 56 games (12 starts) for the Knicks this season and he averaged 19.4 minutes, 8.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. I’m kind of surprised that the Knicks didn’t play Douglas more because the season was lost early for the team. Look for him to have a larger role next year for the Knicks.

Toronto Raptors 131, New York Knicks 113

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Thursday 15 April 2010 at 9:35 am

The Knicks never had a chance last night as the Raptors shot an amazing 65% from the floor! Bill Walker led the way for the Knicks last night with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Danilo Gallinari also had a solid game with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists last night. David Lee was outstanding with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in what could be his final game with the Knicks. The Knicks finish the season with a 29-53 record.

New York Knicks 114, Washington Wizards 103

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Tuesday 13 April 2010 at 10:34 am

The Knicks shot 51.3% from the floor last night and they outscored the Wizards 40-21 in the fourth quarter as it looked like they wanted the game more. David Lee led the way for the Knicks last night with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Danilo Gallinari also had a huge game with 24 points and 8 rebounds last night. Toney Douglas had a good game off the bench for the Knicks last night with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Chris Duhon (14 points and 3 assists) and Sergio Rodriguez (12 points in 18 minutes) also helped the Knicks’ cause last night. The Knicks are now 29-52 on the season.

Miami Heat 111, New York Knicks 98

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Sunday 11 April 2010 at 9:33 pm

The Knicks didn’t play any defense tonight as the Heat shot 52.4% from the floor and it did them in. David Lee led the way for the Knicks once again with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Danilo Gallinari only shot 5 of 19 from the floor but he still finished up with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bill Walker was solid off the bench for the Knicks with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in 33 minutes off the bench. Earl Barron had another solid game despite only shooting 2 of 7 from the floor as he finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Knicks are now 28-52 on the season.

Al Harrington of the New York Knicks is done for the year

Blogged under Big Knicks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Wednesday 7 April 2010 at 5:36 pm

Al Harrington is going to have shoulder surgery tomorrow which will keep him out the next 3-4 months. He is due to become a unrestricted free agent this summer so he has likely played his last game for the Knicks. Harrington played in 72 games (15 starts) for the Knicks this season and he averaged 30.5 minutes, 17.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

David Lee is playing like a man possessed in April for the New York Knicks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Wednesday 7 April 2010 at 5:34 pm

Starting center David Lee knows that he is going to be a unrestricted free agent at the end of the year and he has really stepped his game up in April which is perfect timing for him. Lee has played in 3 games so far in April and he is averaging 42.3 minutes, 26.3 points, 13.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Lee has now played in 75 games (all starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 37.5 minutes, 20.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Lee has shot 54.8% from the floor and 81.2% from the free throw line as he has no weaknesses on offense. The Knicks should re-sign him but they have their eyes on bigger prizes like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

The New York Knicks waive Cuttino Mobley

Blogged under Big Knicks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 6 April 2010 at 6:53 am

34-year old shooting guard Cuttino Mobley did not play all year for the Knicks before getting cut because he has a heart problem. He has likely played his last game in the NBA. Mobley has played in 747 games (581 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 37.0 minutes, 16.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game. It’s hard to see a guy like Cuttino Mobley’s career end this way because he was a solid basketball player.

The New York Knicks ink Earl Barron to a 10-day contract

Blogged under Big Knicks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Friday 2 April 2010 at 5:19 pm

Knicks’ players are falling like flies lately. That caused them to sign 28-year PF/C Earl Barron to a 10-day deal. Barron last played in the NBA during the 2007-08 season with the Heat. Barron has played in 82 games (15 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 13.9 minutes, 4.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. I don’t see him offering up too much help for the Knicks the rest of the way.
