The New York Knicks lose Carmelo Anthony for 1-2 weeks

Blogged under Big Knicks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 7 February 2012 at 9:03 pm

The Knicks have lost 27-year old small forward Carmelo Anthony for the next 1-2 weeks due to a groin injury that he suffered last night.  Anthony has played in 22 games (all starts) for the Knicks so far this year and he is averaging 34.3 minutes, 22.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  He is only shooting 39.9% from the floor so far this year and that is pretty awful for him.  24-year old Bill Walker will likely get a lot of P.T. until Anthony is ready to return to action.  Walker has played in 24 games (2 starts) for the Knicks so far this year and he is averaging 18.9 minutes, 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.  It will be interesting to see if Walker steps up and takes advantage of this opportunity to really show what he can do.
