The Knicks have released 27-year old forward Renaldo Balkman.  Balkman played in 14 games (0 starts) for the Knicks last year and he averaged 8.2 minutes, 3.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  He played in 150 games (1 start) in his four years with the Knicks and he averaged 14.3 minutes, 4.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  This isn’t much of a loss for the Knicks, plus, they need Balkman’s roster spot for the newly signed J.R. Smith.
