The New York Knicks sign Dan Gadzuric

The Knicks have signed 34-year old center Dan Gadzuric for the rest of the 2011-12 season.  He played in 42 games (9 starts) for the Warriors & Nets last year and he averaged 11.0 minutes, 2.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  Gadzuric has now played in 525 games (164 starts) so far in his NBA career and he is averaging 14.8 minutes, 4.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  This was a solid move for the Knicks as Gadzuric gives them another big guy for the bench.

The Knicks outran the Nets last night in New Jersey.  Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Knicks with 33 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 blocked shot.  Tyson Chandler (18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots) and J.R. Smith (15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) also had rock solid games for the Knicks last night.  The Knicks are now 33-29 on the year.

The Knicks shot 56.8% from the floor and 59.4% (19 of 32) from the three point line last night, which were big factors in the impressive win.  Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Knicks last night with 35 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals.  J.R. Smith shot 7 of 10 from three point range as he finished up with 25 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal.  Steve Novak was also red hot from long range as he hit 8 of 10 three pointers to finish up with 25 points and 2 assists off the bench.  Tyson Chandler was solid inside for the Knicks as he finished up with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.  The Knicks are now 32-29 on the year.

28-year old small forward Steve Novak is having a career year for the Knicks as they are giving him his biggest opportunity to play in his career and he’s making the most of it.  Novak has played in 48 games (0 starts) for the Knicks so far this year and he is averaging 18.0 minutes, 8.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.  He is shooting 47.1% from the floor, 45.8% from three point range and 87% from the free throw line this year as he has been amazing shooting the ball.  Novak has now played in 273 games (4 starts) in his first six years in the NBA and he is averaging 11.2 minutes, 4.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  The Knicks hope that Novak will be a long range assassin in the playoffs this year.

The Knicks were outrebounded 47-33 and they were outscored 22-17 in the 4th quarter and it did them in.  Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Knicks yesterday with 42 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal.  J.R. Smith also had a solid game with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot.  Tyson Chandler pitched in with 9 points and 5 rebounds in this game.  The Knicks are now 31-29 on the year.

The Knicks held the Wizards to 27.8% shooting from the floor last night as they destroyed them!  J.R. Smith led the way for the Knicks with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals.  Tyson Chandler (18 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal) and Carmelo Anthony (18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) also had solid games for the Knicks.  Steve Novak pitched in with 18 points, 1 rebound and 1 blocked shot in 22 minutes off the bench.  The Knicks are now 31-28 on the year.

Smith (14 points), Landry Fields (11 points) and Steve Novak (10 points) also pitched in for the Knicks last night.  The Knicks are now 30-28 on the year.

Smith (14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals), Iman Shumpert (12 points, 1 rebound and 3 assists) and Tyson Chandler (10 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots) also had decent games for the Knicks.  The Knicks are now 29-28 on the year.

Carmelo Anthony is starting to rock for the New York Knicks in April

27-year old small forward Carmelo Anthony has been coasting most of this year, but in April, he is red hot and trying to drive his Knicks into the playoffs.  Anthony has played in 3 games (all starts) so far in April and he is averaging 38.3 minutes, 33.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  He is shooting 50% from the floor and 46.7% from three point range so far this month.  The Knicks need him to stay red hot if they are going to make the playoffs.  Overall this year, Anthony has played in 46 games (all starts) for the Knicks and he is averaging 33.7 minutes, 21.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  He is only shooting 41.6% overall from the floor this year and 31.0% from the three point line.

The Knicks outscored the Bulls 9-8 in O.T. as Carmelo Anthony willed his team to victory.  Anthony led the way for the Knicks with 43 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Iman Shumpert also had a rock solid game with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.  J.R. Smith only shot 6 of 22 from the floor, but he still pitched in with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot in this game. Landry Fields pitched in with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in this game.  The Knicks are now 29-27 on the year.
