Nate Robinson ascends to the starting lineup for the New York Knicks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Thursday 4 February 2010 at 6:53 pm

Finally the Knicks have come to their senses as Nate Robinson will be the new starting point guard starting tomorrow night. He has played in 27 games (0 starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 23.6 minutes, 12.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Robinson is shooing 46.7% from the floor this season and 36.9% from three point range. He is easily the best point guard on the Knicks’ roster so it’s great that they have finally decided to start him.

Larry Hughes gets promoted to 2nd team for the New York Knicks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Thursday 4 February 2010 at 6:51 pm

Larry Hughes will now be the back-up point guard for the Knicks moving past Chris Duhon on the depth chart. Hughes has played in 30 games (14 starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 26.7 minutes, 9.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game. His shooting has been awful as he is only hitting 36.7% from the floor this season and 29.2% from three point range this year. He won’t likely be starting any time soon but at least he will get some exercise.

The New York Knicks demote Chris Duhon

Blogged under Big Knicks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Thursday 4 February 2010 at 6:48 pm

Coach Mike D’Antoni finally decided to demote Chris Duhon not only from the starting lineup but the playing rotation completely. This has got to make Knicks’ fans happy as Duhon has been pathetic this season. Duhon has played in 48 games (all starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 33.2 minutes, 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. But, it is his putrid shooting which is earning him his spot at the very end of the Knicks’ bench. He is shooting only 34.8% from the floor this season and 33.8% from three point range and that just can’t be tolerated out of a starting point guard in the NBA, period.

The New York Knicks need to start cutting Larry Hughes’ minutes

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Sunday 3 January 2010 at 9:34 am

Larry Hughes is essentially a shooting guard that can’t shoot. That is like being a WR that can’t catch or a DH that can’t hit. He is only shooting 36.8% from the floor this season and 29.7% from three point range and that is not good enough to get the job done, period. He has played in 27 games (14 starts) this season for the Knicks and he is averaging 28.4 minutes, 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Larry Hughes should not be playing over Nate Robinson period!

Eddy Curry just doesn’t fit for the New York Knicks right now

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 29 December 2009 at 12:11 pm

27-year old Eddy Curry wants to be traded and that’s because he knows that he just doesn’t fit in with the Knicks anymore. He is still only 27 years old and he has nice size at 7’0″, 295 pounds but he is soft near the basket. He has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 8.0 minutes, 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. Curry has now played in 222 games (208 starts) in his five years with the Knicks and he is averaging 28.5 minutes, 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. The Knicks wouldn’t get anything for Curry if they tried to move him because no one really knows what he can do anymore as he has been very injury prone the last two years. That means the Knicks are likely stuck with him.

Chris Duhon is really stinking it up for the New York Knicks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 15 December 2009 at 4:40 pm

The Knicks really have to look at benching starting point guard Chris Duhon who has been awful so far this season. Duhon has played in 23 games (all starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 34.0 minutes, 8.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Duhon is also only shooting 32.8% from the floor as teams are just packing the paint and letting him shoot bricks. The Knicks don’t have many good alternatives to starting in the place of Duhon and Larry Hughes and Nate Robinson are shooting guards. Maybe the Knicks should just tell Duhon to pass the ball more until his shot starts coming around because he is hurting the team right now.

Chris Duhon is stinking it up so far this season for the New York Knicks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 November 2009 at 10:26 am

The point guard is supposed to be the QB of the offense and a big part of the Knicks’ problems this year stems from the play of starting point guard Chris Duhon. Duhon has played in 7 games (all starts) for the Knicks this season and he is averaging 36.7 minutes, 7.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He also is shooting a pathetic 25.4% from the floor and it’s really hurting the team. Whispers have already started around N.Y. that the Knicks might consider trading for Allen Iverson next month when he is elgible to be moved.

The New York Knicks could be on the verge of giving Nate Robinson more P.T.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up,Uncategorized by alleyoop on Saturday 5 January 2008 at 1:27 pm

If the Knicks were smart they would play guard Nate Robinson a lot at home. He is a fan favorite plus the guys ahead of him aren’t exactly racking up the wins this season. Robinson has played in 28 games this season for the Knicks and he is averaging 19.8 minutes, 10.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He must improve his shooting as he’s only hitting 39.9% from the floor and 37.5% from three point range so far this season.

The New York Knicks need Jamal Crawford to shoot better

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 11 December 2007 at 6:04 pm

For some reason Jamal Crawford thinks that he’s Allen Iverson….except he’s not shooting well. Crawford is only shooting 34.1% from the floor so far this month and only 25.8% from three point range in December. Crawford has started 5 games in December and he has averaged 43 minutes, 18.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Crawford needs to start passing the ball more because he’s hurting the Knicks right now.

Quentin Richardson is stinking up the joint for the New York Knicks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up by alleyoop on Wednesday 5 December 2007 at 10:00 am

Quentin Richardson talks a good game….too bad he doesn’t play one. He fired up the Celtics last week by saying they weren’t that good and then the Celtics pasted them 104-59 on national T.V. He needs to shut up and work on his game. Richardson has played in 15 games so far this season and he’s averaged 31.4 minutes, 6.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game so far this season. He’s also heaving up bricks at an alarming rate as he’s only hitting 31.3% from the floor. If he doesn’t start playing better soon the Knicks will have to give his starting job to someone else.
